Utah State LB Woodward Makes All-America Third Team

BY JACK PARODI

Utah State linebacker David Woodward was selected to the Associated Press All-American third team Monday morning.

The accolade is the second All-American team the sophomore has made this year, as he already made Pro Football Focus’ first All-American team. PFF also selected Woodward as their Mountain West Conference Player of the Year.

The Aggies’ best player led the Mountain West in tackles with 124 (11.3 per game) — good for 10th in football. Woodward leads Utah State in plenty of categories, including tackles, tackles for loss and forced fumbles. He also ranked second in sacks and nabbed an interception as well.

Woodward’s stand-out performance of 2018 was a 20-tackle outing against Colorado State — the most tackles in a game by a Utah State player since 2015.
